The siege of Savannah was known as the second deadliest part of the Revolutionary war. It began on October 8th. The army that siege'd Savannah was composed of 500 men from South Carolina and Georgia. The French came in on a naval fleet to help the Americans fight the British out of Savannah. The battle of Kettle creek showed how weak Britain's forces were when scattered. It was a crushing victory for Patriots when they beat a loyalist army at kettle creek.
